Babcock University Vacancies

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions at the Babcock University.

CIVIL ENGINEER
Qualifications:
• B.Sc. Structural/Civil Engineering (membership of the appropriate professional bodies will be an added advantage.)
• Relevant work experience of 8 years+
• Not more than 45 years old.


ADVANCEMENT SERVICES OFFICER
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in any Communications or related discipline.
• A minimum of two years cognate experience. Previous employment with a not for profit organization will be an added advantage.
• Strong facility and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites.
• Strong written/Oral communication skills, plus ability to develop briefs.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

GRAPHICS DESIGNER/PHOTOGRAPHER
Qualifications:
• HND Fine Art with emphasis in graphics design and photography + 6years experience or
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication with particular emphasis in Photo Journalism or relevant field. Four to five years photography experience.
• Skill in interpersonal communication.
• Competency with Suites.

WEBMASTER
Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Computer related Sciences from a recognized University + 6 years cognate experience.
• Demonstrated skill and expert programming knowledge using Microsoft. NET technologies to develop secure database and web based applications; plus skill and ability to write programs in the following language VB.NET/C#, SQL, XML, SOAP, and WSDL
• Demonstrated skill and ability in the development of database application systems specifically related to fundraising/customer relationship management.
• Skill in working with Web browsers, image-manipulation and databases, and other Web software tools.
• Ability to implement Web Tracking software and to interpret results for tracking site usage.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Qualifications:
• HND or B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering (minimum of a second class lower division)
• Membership of related professional bodies will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 6years construction work experience
• Not more than 45 years old.

SENIOR PUBLICATIONS OFFICER
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, English, Journalism and allied Subjects.
• A minimum of two years of cognate experience. Experience in marketing Communication will be an added advantage.
• Strong facility and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

DIRECTOR of EXTERNAL & COMMUNITY AFFAIRS
Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required, a master’s degree preferred, and a minimum of five years of successful external relations management.
• Experience in working and communication with multiple public (preferably at an institution of higher education).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in dealing with broadcast and print media, plus ability to serve as an institutional spokesperson on a variety of issues.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully with multiple constituencies, especially host communities
• Thorough knowledge of principles and methods of planning and conducting a comprehensive public, external and community relations program, including the development and implementation of a strategic marketing plan
