Once while browsing through a career forum I came across a
poll asking visitors whether they liked
or hated their jobs.
Amazingly a very high percentage of people stated that they
hated their jobs but could do nothing because of those jobs brought them.
That got me thinking. I know there are many people out here
reading this who don’t like what they are presently doing for a living. Still
the truth remains that
‘There is hardly any job that will give you 100% satisfaction’
You can’t like all aspects of your work. That said, if you
wish to find yourself in a job you hate here are steps to take wisely make
things easier for yourself.
·
What Things Do You Hate in Your Job?
Do some soul searching. What is it you really dislike in
your current job. Most people hate their jobs for any or combination of the
following reasons; Insufficient pay, sexual harassment, work condition, work
environment etc. Find out what it is for you. When you know your problem it is
half solved. If you have pin pointed the reason for hating your job you can
take the next step.
·
Take Steps to Minimize Them
·
If your problem is with your job is identified
take steps to wisely reduce or eliminate such challenges. If for instance your
main issue is insufficient pay, devise s atrateyg to gain more recognition and
promotion which usually comes with higher pay. Do what you have to do to make
sure your problem is removed. But what if you can’t minimize your problem at work?
·
Look for New and better jobs While Retaining Your
Present Position: Except your problem is sexual harassment don’t hand in your
resignation yet. Quietly start seeking and applying for better jobs and keep
your current job until you get a concrete job offer elsewhere.
Then you can tender your resignation, kick
the dust off you’re your soles. But before leaving don’t fail to politely tell
your employers what you think is wrong in the organization.
