Mife Construction provides a broad spectrum of engineering services which include the building of roads, bridges, and civil works on oil drilling locations. Mife Construction is a multi-disciplinary engineering contractor with a number of heavy civil engineering projects throughout the country.

As a result of expansion in the activities of this company we now have an opening for
-Project Coordinator
-Quantity Surveyor.
-Technical/Financial Accountant
-Civil Engineers
-Workshop Supervisor




Project Coordinator
Who should be responsible in overseeing and supervising a team of engineers to achieve a desired corporate objective. This role will involve leading project teams, as well as management of expatriates and other engineers and surveyors.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Contract management competence
Construction Project planning
Construction Project management
Liaise with other departments when reporting work progress
Manage CASHES and HSE contract compliance
Management of clients
Reporting the above to the Managing Director/General Manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

HND or BSC in Civil engineering with practical working experience in the construction of oil drilling locations for major oil companies in Nigeria or Abroad
Not less than 40 years of age
Not less than 10 years practical working experience
Must have worked in similar capacity in a top rate construction company in Nigeria or abroad
Must be familiar with Microsoft Projects, Microsoft excel, AUTOCAD & possibly primavera software for preparing work programmes, monitoring, evaluating and reporting of same for construction projects
Must be familiar with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) of major oil companies
Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively within the project management team and also other service departments in the company
COREN certified is essential or any other professional qualification would be an added advantage

Quantity Surveyor.
The ideal candidate will have a new build and refurbishment experience gained within a top rate contractor and will have a solid career history

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Tendering procedures
Pre-contract procedures and documentation
Advance payment recovery and administration
Interim evaluation of completed works
Monthly performance evaluation
Variation order claims
Fluctuation of price claims
Executed quantity of works variance check
Contract due amount payment facilitation
Contract documentation
Contract final accounts

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should have a BSC or HND in Quantity Surveying, could also be HNC qualified. A minimum of a second class lower is essential.
Should have 3-5 years practical Quantity Surveying experience.
Professional qualification and membership of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors will be an added advantage
Experience in managing construction projects in the oil industry will be viewed as essential.
Must be computer literate with proficiency in all Microsoft office packages which include: Ms Word, Ms Excel, Power point presentation.

Technical/Financial Accountant
Preferably the successful candidate must have worked in a construction or engineering company

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Review of resource inputs to each project and the completion certificates generated on monthly basis to ascertain effective production
Variance analysis of resource inputs and invoicing against budgeted amounts
Periodic reports on profit and loss per project to management
Review of internal control procedures in operation in the company and recommend changes where necessary
Reporting to Chief Accountant

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A Minimum of a second class lower division degree in Accounting or Business Management and (or) Civil Engineering. An MBA, ACCA or ICAN will be an added advantage.
Not less than 30 years of age
A Minimum of 4-6 years of cognate experience in construction or related industry.

Civil Engineers

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Programming of works
Works progress reporting
Construction resource planning and ordering
Works programme monitoring
Executing of works comprising mainly of earthworks, concreting, and asphalting sometimes in wet swamp
Working knowledge of surveying
Read and interpret engineering drawings
Materials quantity control and variance check

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

HND or BSC in civil engineering with practical experience in construction of oil drilling locations for major oil companies in Nigeria or abroad
Not less than 30 years of age
5-8 years post qualification experience
Must be familiar with Microsoft projects such as PRIMAVERA & also Microsoft excel
Must be Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) competent
COREN certified or other professional qualification is an added advantage


Workshop Supervisor
With a proven track record within the construction industry to join our existing team of mechanics.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Workshop management of routine and recondition repairs
Spare part ordering and management
Spare part utilization management
Oil/lubricant management
Scrap management
Mechanical mobile service management
HSE compliance management

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A Minimum of a second class lower division degree in Mechanical Engineering
Not less than 30 years of age
Ideally have at least 4-7 years experience within the construction industry in a supervisory or managerial position with proof of success and effectiveness
In depth knowledge of vehicle and plant maintenance is essential together with a sound knowledge of hydraulic systems.
A good knowledge of mobile and gantry cranes is an advantage.
You will be an experienced workshop supervisor, with very strong leadership and communication skills and able to work on your own initiative and the ability to motivate a team of technical/mechanical staff, to create impact and influence
The ability to plan, co-ordinate and control work within a busy team.
Experience in the use of IT vehicle maintenance management systems is essential.
Have a good working and mechanical knowledge of all makes and types of commercial waste vehicles and trailer maintenance
Have a basic knowledge in Hydraulics & Pneumatics
Computer and IT Literate with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and databases
Have a good working knowledge of COSHH, LOLER and PUWER Regulations.
Should have a flexible approach in day to day duties and be required to undertake other duties appropriate to the grade, a certain amount of travelling will be expected
