Jobs in Nigeria for Senior Completion Engineer / Supervisor
Job Scope:

To provide engineering and technical expertise in the areas of completion design and supervision for new and existing wells including workover and through tubing operations.

Job Objectives:

Perform Completion engineering works required for successful, cost-effective and safe implementation of POOC’s exploration, development, workover and completion activities.
Review the operations, define problem areas and search for solutions.
Evaluate and recommend new techniques, designs and procedures related to workover and well completions with the objective of optimizing quality, cost and efficient operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Write completion programs, plans, procedures and schedules and provide technical and practical support for the programs implementation.
Responsible for evaluating and designing completions for both new wells and workovers (including tubing design, equipment selection, stimulation, remedial operations planning, intervention and abandonment).
Prepare and write Basis of Design. Make completion input to Field Development Plans (FDP) when required.
Review offset wells for completion design and its effectiveness over well’s life cycle compared to newer technologies and tools available in-country.
Performs cost vs. benefit analysis on differing options and makes selection recommendation.
Prepare Scope of Work, tender evaluation criteria, tender list e.t.c for tendering and contracting of all associated completion services.
Monitor timely reporting of completion operations and cost data.
Champion improvement initiatives and shares knowledge with other business units while keeping abreast of current and emerging completion technologies.
Responsible for Completion End of Well Reporting and capture lessons learned.
Provide technical advice to well site personnel. In addition, spending time at the well site supporting field staff and ensuring operations are performed in full compliance with company procedures, policies and guidelines during all completion operations.
May also be called upon to help-out with ‘non-rig’ activities including coiled-tubing, slick-line or electric line operations.
Work closely with drilling engineers, sub-surface engineers and field personnel to optimize field development strategies.
Compile completion engineering documentation needed for partners reviews, well examination, handover and audit as required.
Carry out risk assessment of each particular operation and communicate well to the team.

Attributes / Skills Required for Job:

At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering
At least 7 years relevant experience as a completion engineer, in which the last 3 years must have been spent with an operator
Onshore working experience is an advantage.
Knowledge of sand control measures and Gas lift designs are essential
Good understanding of technical and commercial issues associated with the development and production of oil and gas from marginal reservoirs i.e. 3 – 7 ft of perforation.
Must posses in-depth knowledge of dual completion methods
Knowledge of applicable completion software is an advantage.
Strong team player in a multidiscipline environment
Good written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English language

Job Scope:

To provide engineering and technical expertise in the areas of well design, programming, workover and completion operations.

Job Objectives:

Perform drilling engineering works required for successful, cost-effective and safe implementation of POOC’s exploration, development, workover and completion activities.Review the operations, define problem areas and search for solutions.
Evaluate and recommend new techniques, designs and procedures related to drilling, workover and well completions with the objective of optimizing quality, cost and efficient operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed Drilling, Workover and Completions programmes for all proposed wells and closely monitor performance from the rig.
Prepare & Submit well control insurance packages to insurers before a well is spudded.
Prepare AFE (Drilling, Completion & Workover) for management review and approval.
Prepare Technical input into the drilling application package to DPR and NAPIMS.
Co-ordinate the preparation of end-of-well and well history reports.
Prepare well initial completion/ Side Track/ Plug & Abandon approval packages to DPR.
Liaise with all drilling, operations and well engineering personnel (POOC and Service Companies).
Monitor and collect operational, financial and well performance data (Cost and NPT Tracking)
Liaise with Joint Venture Partners and Regulatory bodies to ensure approvals have been obtained prior to spudding of the well.
Work closely with Drilling Supt, QA/QC dept, and Drilling Supervisor to ensure smooth and timely completions of all well engineering operations.
Monitor AFEs and budgets as operations progresses and keep the drilling team informed.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical or equivalent engineering discipline.
Possession of valid IWCF Well Control certificate is an advantage.
At least 5 years experience in Drilling, Workover & Completion Engineering.
Knowledge of horizontal, high angle and multilateral well design is an advantage.
Strong team player in a multidiscipline environment
Excellent communications skills
Competent in the use of well engineering software packages (Landmark - Wellplan, Compass, Dims, Stresscheck e.t.c).

Job Vacancy 1: Facilities Engineer
Job Role:

Optimize surface production facility conceptual design and conclude parameters required for preliminary engineering design.
Provide technical support to preliminary and final engineering designs of upstream onshore facilities including flowstations and flowlines to accommodate all user needs.
Manage and coordinate multidiscipline activities to ensure projects are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner
Responsible and accountable for engineering/design of facilities for assigned projects from initiation through execution to commissioning phase.
Plan, direct, supervise and control the execution of technical, fiscal and administrative functions on projects.
Facilitate synergy between various departments & end users to minimize facilities capital & operating costs and to minimize the facilities environmental impact.
Resolves any discrepancies with contractors.
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery within the plant.
Establishes standards and policies for environmental pollution control, installation, modification, quality control, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenances of equipment according to engineering principles and safety regulations.

Job vacancy 2: Petrophycist
Job Functions:

To manage/ provide support for the fields, with an emphasis on managing petrophysical/Formation Evaluation data and delivering a high quality Petrophysical input during all stages of field life.

To work in cross-discipline teams and activities may include participation in project reviews and petrophysical data acquisition.


The candidate will be responsible for:

Open and Cased Hole Log interpretation and Log evaluation, including quick-look log interpretation.
Initiate/plan/execute formation coring and core analyses programme in Pan Ocean
Initiate/plan/execute advanced petrophysical/formation evaluation studies, for other teams in the company.
Co-ordinate well logging and perforating operations carried out by contractors;
Provide input to proposals, and monitor logging during operations;
Petroleum Field reviews or reservoir studies, including the interpretation or incorporation of petrophysical data such as logs cores and formation samples.
Electric wireline operation, including log data acquisition planning.
Supervision and monitoring of well-site logging/coring operations
The management of formation evaluation contracts such as coring and core analyses, wireline logging or MWD,FEWD and other related log activities.
HSE auditing of logging contractor operations or facilities.
Making Petrophysical contributions to field and reservoir development plans.
Identifying opportunities for development, adding value through the innovative application of new technologies,
Advising and coaching less experienced petrophysics staff


Job Requirements:

Minimum qualification is a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or Geosciences, and ideally a Masters in a related technical discipline will be an advantage.
Minimum 8 years’ relevant working experience, candidate must have strong background in Petrophysical operations and formation evaluation work;
A high level of competency is expected in contributions to the development of reservoir models that are based on fully integrated geological, geophysical and Petroleum engineering data;
Good communication skills and strong physical intuition, as well as the willingness to grow technically and be part of a multi-disciplinary team;
Strong business focus and commitment to safety and customer interaction skills are crucial as you’ll be required to work closely with joint-venture partners, contractors and professionals from other disciplines/teams; knowledge in economic evaluation is an advantage;
Extensive knowledge of proprietary petrophysical tools/ software and an understanding of petrophysical data management are essential.
Should be responsible for ensuring that the financial aspect of the job is executed according to the plan
Ability to QC and sign off on all wireline logging jobs
