Job Description:
The Managing Director/CEO is responsible for providing overall operational leadership and
support in driving the strategic direction of the entire company’s business activities, articulating
growth initiatives and profitability plans, ensuring efficient use and management of resources
towards achievement of the corporate goals
Key Accountabilities
Reporting to the President and Board of Directors, this jobholder will be responsible for,
• Articulating and ensuring effective implementation of the company’s business strategies and
growth plans
• Defining the corporate business objectives, performance metrics, operational policies and
the controls and risk management.
• Providing visionary leadership to ensure sustainable growth of the company
• Getting directly involved in business development, relationship management and
performance management activities to assure business continuity and sustainability
• Coordinating the effective implementation of board decisions and guiding the operations of
the company in compliance with statutory provisions
• Submitting performance and progress reports to the board of directors on the profitability
status of the company periodically
• Identifying and developing new business opportunities and taking overall responsibility for
effective and profitable execution
• Initiating policy inputs for board consideration and approval
• Initiating strategies to promote the corporate identity and public image of the company
• Managing, coaching and providing development opportunities for staff to enhance the
operational and performance capacity of the company
• Creating an enabling environment that empowers management and staff to proactively
respond to opportunities and challenges in the business environment in pursuit of the
company’s business objectives.
The Person Profile (Skills & Competencies)
Able to deliver within tight timeframes cope well with pressure and solve complex organizational
problems. Proven business management capabilities (including leadership assertiveness,
Integrity, personnel / team development, Influencing skills, Communication); Industry and
Business knowledge ( financial services, asset management, capital markets, banking,
insurance etc ); entrepreneurial disposition and International exposure are key requirements.
The person must be self-motivated, diligent, and enthusiastic with a strong business orientation
and must demonstrate strong analytical skills, leadership ability and the ability to communicate
effectively. Membership of the certified pension institute and other relevant bodies will be an
added advantage.


Job Qualifications:
At least 10 years cumulative working experience, 6 years of which should be in a core senior management capacity in a reputable/ quoted/ multinational financial services company. Degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics or Business Administration is necessary. Possession of a Master’s degree or Professional affiliation of relevant bodies such as ICAN, ACCA is required. The right person must be familiar with ERPtype financial applications.
