Job at BAT Nigeria for Chief Security Officer - External Operations

BAT is recruiting for an experienced Chief Security Officer - External Operations.

Candidate must possess a Degree in the Humanities, Social Sciences or Arts; Exhibit a high level of initiative, confidentiality & commitment and a high level of decision making, objectivity, creativity & Integrity.

Excellent Interpersonal & leadership skills are also required plus good IT knowledge/skills to generate and run reports and an ability to drive will be an advantage.

Due to the peculiar nature of the Security function, it is imperative that the jobholder should be able to adapt to changes when necessary.

Accountabilities

Conduct periodic security review of all BATN residences and external locations in order to determine the adequacy (or otherwise) of existing security measures in place.
Carry out regular compliance visits to all BATN residences and outstations in order to ensure that existing security policies and procedures are in line with BAT best practice with respect to residential security (or as the case maybe).
Ensure high level of performance on the part of contract security guards and the Security Escort Teams stationed in the residences.
Ensure that all resources provided for security operations in the residences and outstations are effectively managed and utilised.
Ensure that security systems in place in the residences and outstations are in good working conditions.
Monthly collation and assessment of intelligence data with respect to crime incidents in Lagos. Collated intelligence data will be forwarded to Security Manager for review.
Write detailed security reports based on current security situation and potential threats to BATN personnel, assets, information and business operations.

BAT is recruiting for an experienced Finance Coordinator - General Ledger.

Candidates must have a good knowledge of book keeping and financial reporting is required. Proficiency in Microsoft words & excel is required.

Also good knowledge of the Company Enterprise Resource Programme, currently systems applications and procedures ( SAP) especially General Ledger in FI module is essential.

The Job holder is expected to be a first degree holder in social sciences and or at least a finalist in a recognised professional accountancy examination, while membership of such professional bodies will be an added advantage

The Job holder is expected to improve the propriety and accuracy of all transactions domiciled in the accounts of the Company.
The Job holder is expected to ensure that all records in the books of the company and its subsidiaries are a true reflection of its activities.
The Job holder is expected to ensure compliance with the Company’s policy on records management
The Job holder is also expected to ensure that the Company maintains proper record in terms of its Financial reports
Serve as a key user as well as first point of reference on issues relating to the General Ledger, in the company’s accounting enterprise resource programme (ERP), presently, Systems Applications and Procedures (SAP).
The Job holder is to ensure that policies and procedures put in place to ensure the efficient and effective operation of General Ledger is enforced

BAT is recruiting for an experienced Audit Manager. The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Carry out risk based audits of relevant business processes aimed at providing assurance that there is an acceptable balance of controls and risk, identifying any control weaknesses that would inhibit achievement of business objectives and agreeing corrective action plans that would to correct identified weaknesses
To provide written reports on control weaknesses and recommended actions that will be submitted to the area and regional audit committee in order to ensure the regional audit committee is in a position to optimise its contribution to the business.
Perform investigations as requested by functional management towards determining the occurrence or otherwise of fraudulent activity and culpability.

Knowledge & Experiences for Job:

A professionally qualified accountant with at least 4 years post qualification/audit experience and familiar with the FMCG industry
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide internal audience from OpCo General Manager downwards.
Spoken and written English of a very high standard.
A good understanding of the use and application of IT and a thorough knowledge of the related control and security standards.
Capacity to adapt behaviour to cope with significantly different environments and culture.

Job Responsibilities:

Preparation of monthly tax statistics (contribution to government revenue) for social reports to stakeholders.
Prepare and file monthly and annual tax returns to 36 states of the federation and the federal tax authorities covering: Company Income Tax (CIT & Education); Withholding Tax; Pay-as-you-earn (PAYE); Value Added Tax
Support the process of delivering tax clearance and all other tax documents required by employees.
Prepare analytical reports required for tax decision processes
Knowledge & Experiences:

Academic Degree
Professional membership of recognised Chartered Accountancy Body
Prior knowledge of accounting, preferrably in a reputable accounting firm.

Principal Accountabilities: Operations/ Professional/ Business
Advise Functional line management on HR strategy and support the strategy implementation in the coverage areas in Marketing, under general directions.
